Harry Potter as the Messiah?

As some of you may already know, there is a strong similarity between the character of Harry Potter to that of Jesus Christ. Now, Christian elements are almost always expected from authors/writers who have been brought up in a Christian society, like J.K. Rowling. But, the connection between Harry and the Messiah of Christianity is almost uncanny. This universe mainly focuses on the battle between good and evil, and the triumph of light over darkness and Harry is the embodiment of purity, faith, and love as was Jesus. To look at some of the finer points around the Harry Potter character that relates to the Christian hero, here are some points that prove this theory:

- Resurrection: I realize that this happened in the last novel/film, but this scene was the most direct link between Harry and Jesus. As Harry was killed by Voldemort, "the Devil," he moved on to the afterlife and chose to return, to bring back a sense of hope/faith to the Hogwarts resistance. Which he did and because of that act good defeated evil.

-Welcoming Death: Before Harry was killed by Voldemort; he entered the grove to await his murder because he knew it was for the betterment of his friends. He needed to die so evil could die, as Jesus died for our sins. Jesus welcomed his crucifixion to die for all sinners.

-Father-like Figure: As Jesus journeyed through the New Testament; there were many references in which God was watching over him and his followers. Within the Harry Potter universe, Dumbledore is a personification of God as he watches over Harry and guides him through his life to the end and in defeating evil.

-Parents: Jesus was a child born by miraculous birth, the Immaculate Conception. God the father, a supernatural being, had a child through the Virgin Mary, a human. As Mary was a pure virgin, she was the closest to godliness a woman could be. Harry Potter was born by a pureblood wizard father and a "muggle" witch.

-Magic vs. Divine Intervention: In the Harry Potter novels, Magic is used to describe events that occur that we as humans could not preform like that of "Wingardium Leviosa." In the case of the New Testament, it was God acting through Jesus that caused miracles or magical events to happen like making lame beggars walk and blind men see.

-Dumbledore's Army and Christ's Disciples: Jesus Christ had the famous 12 Apostles, which included John the Baptist, Peter, and Matthew. These close friends of Jesus were there to spread the word of the Lord, and ultimately save mankind by delivering them from other evil paths. Harry Potter in the Order of the Phoenix had created Dumbledore's Army to help train his fellow classmates and friends to defeat Lord Voldemort (evil).

So, in the end there is a great resemblance between Harry Potter and Jesus Christ. These two stories are some of the greatest that mankind will know, and it is interesting that practically the same story told in a different way took the world by storm again. These kinds of stories are timeless, they create massive followers, and in a sense the world fell in love with Jesus a second time.
